A lovely rest area along the former railway line, which is well-used. A geocache is also hidden here.

A walk around the pond offers several different perspectives 👀 The 3 Schwäne beer garden occasionally serves wood-fired pizza (more information on the hotel's website www.dreischwaene.de)

I did exactly what Dirk described. I took the train from Jena to Camburg and then cycled along the Zuckerbahn cycle path. After a slight climb, the path becomes very flat and has many crossings over more or less busy roads. Of course, there are also many bridges. Orientation was sometimes difficult, but my intuition helped. Zeitz is very beautiful, but finding the Elster cycle path to Gera from there isn't easy. Still doable. 😁 Highly recommended.
