From 1271 to 1548, the bishops of Havelberg resided in the Wittstock castle (Alte Bischofsburg), which was built on Slavic foundations. The last Catholic bishop, Busso II. (von Alvensleben), died at the castle in 1548. With the Reformation, episcopal rule ended in 1550. Today, the most prominent part of the castle that remains is the 32 m high Amtsturm (keep); it houses the Museum of the Thirty Years' War.

The "Giant Raspberries" in Wittstock/Dosse are large art sculptures. They originate from the 2019 Brandenburg State Garden Show. These giant berries stand permanently as a photo motif in the Fontanegarten, part of the park "Rund um die Schöne Aussicht" (Around the Beautiful View), right behind the historic town wall.
