Dedicated to the Virgin Mary, the church belongs to the Taxenbach deanery in the Archdiocese of Salzburg. The church and the cemetery are listed as historical monuments. A church was first documented in 1468. A fire destroyed the church in 1867, and it was rebuilt between 1868 and 1869 according to the plans of architect Friedrich von Schmidt.
