Dorfen - In July 2012, an arsonist set fire to the Fürmetz Chapel. The entire interior was destroyed by the fire. A fundraising campaign is being launched to restore the gem at the foot of the Fürmetz-Hölzl. Up to 40,000 euros are needed. The Fürmetz Chapel is more than just a sacred building for many Dorfen residents. For generations, not only walkers, but also old and sick people and couples in love have marched through the birch avenue to the small church to pray there. But the fire in July 2012 destroyed the interior of the chapel. The arsonist has not yet been caught.
