Great huge scenic garden and a decent cask ale range.

Great walk along the canal with many old bridges.

Not far from Baseley Bridge on the Basingstoke Canal, you can catch a glimpse of this beautiful bronze horse statue and it peacefully munches the lawn. The cottage behind it is exquisite as well, with a fantastic thatched roof and timbering on show. Combined with the common sight of ducks padding about the grass, it's quite the picturesque spot.

Once a swing bridge, the lifting bridge was installed in 1988. Spanning a tranquil spot on the Basingstoke Canal in North Warnborough, the bridge can be lifted to allow narrow boats through. It's the only lifting bridge on the canal and you can find it just south west of Odiham Castle. If you're lucky, you might even see it in action.

The Basingstoke Canal passes through the northern edge of Odiham and here you'll find a pretty bridge, a marina and a wharf. There are usually brightly coloured narrow boats moored along the side, making for a rather picturesque view. From here, you can walk along the canal in either direction or into the village itself for a lunch stop.

The Basingstoke Canal has plenty of picturesque spots and Stacey's Bridge is one such place. Now a footbridge, this Grade II-listed structure was constructed in the late 1700s and underwent significant repairs in the late 1900s. In wooded surroundings, this stretch of towpath is particularly resplendent in summer and autumn.
