Location and history: The Schweingraben area is a small wooded area in the north of the western Schurwald between Schanbach and the Strümpfelbach in the Remstal valley. Some small stream tributaries in the Strümpfelbach can be found here. The name Schweingraben is originally a reference to a wild boar enclosure or an area in which there are or were many wild boars and so gave the area its field names. The forest area today consists largely of a mixed forest in which the beech has the largest share.
