The present Catholic parish church of St. Stephen is a late Gothic brick building with a recessed choir, an attached sacristy, and a spindle-shaped tower dating from around 1500. The tower superstructure was remodeled in Baroque style by Erding's master mason, Anton Kogler, after lightning damage in 1701. The nave of the church was expanded in 1911. The neo-Gothic interior of the church was modernized in 1962. (wikipedia)

The section of the route between Velden and Moosen is very well developed and also very flat. If you want, you can go very quickly here. The only thing that slows you down a little are the crossing roads, as cyclists always have to give way. There is also an intersection near Oberbabing that slows down bicycle traffic by putting up barriers/chicanes...

It was a great opportunity for 2020/21 to run the "Marktlauf Velden" organized by Bergfreunde Velden again despite the Covid 19 period.

The (Isental-)Vilstal cycle path is paved throughout except for the last few kilometers, has no steep gradients and is therefore perfect for easy bike tours with children, skittles and luggage. Those who shy away from the bumpy "Gravelroads" near Vilshofen can alternatively detour in the direction of Landau when coming from Upper Bavaria.
