From here, there are several starting points for excursions (eastwards to Urbansholz, westwards towards Wolfswinkel and Harrain, while to the north lie Hammersbach and Walpertskirchen, and to the south are Buch am Buchrain and Mitterbuch). Parking is limited, and I've only walked past here a few times. Other parking options include Hörlkofen train station, if you're not arriving by train or don't live in the area.

The beautiful, shady route in the forest leads from the pond with a slight incline, always close to the "Strogen" trickle. The path is good for walking, horseback riding or cycling. First wider, the path is reduced almost to the width of a single trail before crossing the Strogen on an asphalt plank and leading to a wide forest path.

The sawed-off maypole was "missed" in the shape of a cross - it was a good success.

The "Hirschbachwirt" is a cozy restaurant with a manageable but sufficient menu. Here you can eat and drink well and cheaply. The staff is extremely nice and friendly and never seems stressed.
