The organ, built in 1873, originated in the organ workshop of Adolf Reubke in Hausneindorf in the Harz Mountains. It has 40 stops distributed across three manuals and a pedal. The dispositional changes made over the years were reversed in 1995 during a general cleaning and partial restoration. The organ is the only surviving Reubke organ of its size and is also the largest Romanesque organ of the 19th century in the state of Brandenburg.

The "Bassewitzbrunnen" was inaugurated in 2007 according to a design by artist Jan Witte-Kropius for the 770th anniversary of the city of Kyritz. The depiction of the brave Kyritz women, who are said to have poured hot soup over the robber baron Bassewitz's head, is a successful realization of the artist's idea and the Bassewitz legend. Der Bassewitzbrunnen wurde im Oktober 2007 als „Denkmal des Monats“ der AG Historische Stadtkerne des Landes Brandenburg ausgezeichnet.
