Absolutely not recommended when it's wet (see pictures) - unless you're on a mountain bike and have the right incline ;-) Komoot sent me through here on a gravel bike. It's impossible to get past the mud holes - so you have to go straight through. The bike and rider were no longer recognizable as such afterwards :-)

The church, originally built in the Romanesque style, was rebuilt in 1448 in the early Gothic style and significantly expanded. During the Thirty Years' War the church was badly damaged and the church bell was stolen. A new bell was installed in 1717. In 1878 and 1962 the church was rebuilt again. In 1878 the current entrance, the large leaded windows and a large wooden gallery were installed. The pews that are still in place today were also installed. In 1962 the gallery was restored to its current state and a new church organ was installed. The metal baptismal font installed in 1878 was replaced with the original Elm limestone baptismal font. The baptismal font was probably created by artists who came to the area for the construction of the Imperial Cathedral in Königslutter. (Source: Wikipedia)
