Very nice little town with a beautiful marina and lots to see, like the castle and the train station, especially when the historic train stops there.

The Egboetswater is a green and watery area that is spaciously laid out. There is a lawn with play facilities. The Westfriesland sailing route network runs through the Egboetswater and there is mooring for boats. Fishing enthusiasts can spend hours here. You can park your car at the Liederik, the Pukweg and the Hazeweel. At the Liederik you will also find 'het Egboetje'.

The Mennonite meeting house on Dorpsstraat in the North Holland village of Twisk was built in 1867 under the supervision of the Ministry of Public Works. The building is therefore a so-called Waterstaat church. The church is located within the extension of the protected village view of Twisk. (Wikipedia)

A beautiful little town with a great atmosphere located on the Ijsselmeer. A trip here is worthwhile. The small castle is beautiful to look at and if you like, you can visit it or take a ride on the historic museum train that connects Hoorn with Medemblik.

February 2024. The sails of the mill are being renewed. Nice to see up close how the carpenter puts it together.
