The church is built on a probably artificially raised terrain. The partly enclosed tower consists of three storeys, the lowest of which is made of reused tuff stone. This is also the oldest part of the church and dates from the second half of the 13th century. The second storey is built of bricks; the third storey consists of demolition material that is sloppily plastered. These two storeys were added in the 14th century. The bell was cast around 1450 by William Butendiic. The single-nave nave was built at the end of the 15th or beginning of the 16th century. According to a memorial stone in the roof cornice, the roof was renewed in 1611. The 15th-century choir has been partly demolished and converted into a consistory room. The organ was taken over from a church in Woerden. It was probably built in 1815 by the Utrecht organ builder Abraham Meere. (https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sint-Joriskerk_(Erichem))
