Katthult Farm

At the ticket office, there are small, multilingual fold-out flyers with a map of the grounds. They also provide brief information about each object! It's small and perfectly adequate!
There are various places to stop for a break on the friendly grounds.

The Katthult Hof is the original turntable for the famous "Michel from Lönneberga" movies. It can be visited, except for the still inhabited main house. There is of course a small souvenir shop with various souvenirs and catering options. The highlight, however, is "Michel's woodshed" in which he has carved innumerable males of wood, if he had once again hired something.
Enjoy nature!

Does it wobble or does it not wobble? I really tried with all my might, the dog also helped, but failed miserably ;-)

October 9, 2025, Eksjö Old Town

Eksjö's idyllic town center is home to more than 50 listed wooden houses. This makes Eksjö one of the best-preserved wooden towns in Europe. Here, you can marvel at architecture and memories spanning over four centuries. Eksjö as a town has existed since the 15th century. However, it burned down completely in the mid-16th century and had to be rebuilt. Most of the buildings that now stand in the picturesque town center were constructed after the fire. Many of the houses you can admire today were built in the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries. Unlike many similar historic towns, Eksjö was largely spared the major waves of modernization that swept through Sweden after World War II. In 1997, Eksjö was awarded the Europa Nostra Diploma for its excellent management of architectural and cultural heritage due to its excellent state of preservation.

"The world's most lovable rascal is turning 60! It could be so quiet and peaceful in Lönneberga if it weren't for Michel... For all of you who actually don't know who Michel is (or have forgotten): Michel is five years old and lives with his mom, dad, little sister Ida, maid Lina, and farmhand Alfred on the Katthult farm in Sweden. He gets up to more mischief than there are days in a year. Whether he's helping Lina with her toothache, inviting the elderly from the poorhouse to a Christmas feast, or making deals at the Backhorva auction: Michel has only the very best intentions - unfortunately, it still always turns into mischief. But somehow, you can never be mad at him, even after 60 years." (Source: Publisher's information on "Michel from Lönneberga")

The Katthult farm - film set for the Emil i Lönneberga films. All buildings can be visited except the main house, which is privately inhabited. A visit invites you to immerse yourself in your own childhood memories and dream of rural Småland of bygone times.
