Rocky Trail to Lac Blanc

Highlight • Trail

Due to a car breakdown I had to “emergency park” here. The destination was the Col de la Schlucht. Since I had to wait a long time for the towing service, I asked about the Lac Blanc area near Orbey. And lo and behold, a beautiful area. The ring went around Lake Lac Blanc (to the right of the parking lot). Through shady forests along the bank and up to the crest of the peak. At the top you were rewarded with a wonderful panoramic view from above of the lake, Vosges and the Rhine plain. I was totally fascinated by hiking above the lake with its rustic forests and rocky paths.
Conclusion:
Although the car breakdown was really annoying, the involuntary stop didn't happen. Very worthwhile. An absolutely recommended route.
You should be sure-footed, not afraid of heights and have good shoes, partly in alpine terrain. But it's doable if you have good feet.
At the end you can treat yourself to a cold beer or a juice spritzer in the brasserie at the foot of Lac Blanc.
Simply a great circular route.
Take your time and enjoy.

The view from here is very obscured by trees... a few meters further you are directly at Lac Blanc... much more worthwhile

Certainly the most inviting and cleanest lake on the tour but be careful: swimming is strictly prohibited and is punishable with a fine of €135.
