The church was built between 1022 and 1038 by order of Bishop Godehard and dedicated to the apostles Peter and Paul. The interior is spanned by a wooden barrel vault, upon which are three paintings. They depict the Calling of Paul, the Trinity, and the Resurrection. Scenes from the life of Christ and the Sacrifice of Isaac are depicted on the balustrades of the wooden galleries. At the Baroque pulpit altar from 1736/38, statues of church dignitaries stand between twisted columns. Two figures of saints stand on either side of the pulpit. An oil painting depicting the Nativity is on the front of the altar table, while the Last Supper is depicted on the predella. Above the sounding board is an oil painting of the Entombment of Christ.
