When the water level is low, you can walk through it. Where we live, high water was beautiful to look at.

The Amalienhöhe mine (also known as Grube Dr. Geier) is located above Waldalgesheim near Bingen on the edge of the Hunsrück. The listed former manganese and dolomite mine is unique among Germany's industrial monuments due to its architecture. Since 2002, the Amalienhöhe mine has been part of the UNESCO World Heritage Upper Middle Rhine Valley. Some buildings are now rented out as apartments and offices, the rest are mostly used as storage space and warehouses. In 2014, the dilapidated winding tower was torn down. Since it shaped the surrounding landscape, reconstruction is being considered. More information: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grube_Amalienh%C3%B6he
