At the initiative of a citizens' movement in 2000, an extensive, natural recreational area was created around the former natural open-air swimming pool. Barbecue huts with a campsite and sanitary facilities are located separately on the edge of the forest, but only a stone's throw away from the forest teaching and barefoot path, beach volleyball court, soccer field, cable car, table tennis tables and numerous play equipment for children of all ages. The direct proximity to the forest as well as the immense size of the entire facility make the Reckershausen recreational area unique and attract numerous visitors from near and far, especially in the summer months. Excursions by school and kindergarten groups, children's birthdays, barbecues or just a trip with the family: Here is space for everyone who wants to be active or relax in nature, move or relax.
