In 1993, Hahn Airport was converted into a civilian airport and has been growing steadily ever since, also because many cheap flights are offered from here.

The city's central water supply was completed in 1899 and 1900. An engine house was built on the "Heckerpfad", about 1200 meters from the tower, which was sold in 1996. The Kirchberg water tower was put into operation on August 1, 1900 and was built in 1899/1900 by the Ehrenbreitstein construction company in Langenbach. It has a height of around 36 meters and the capacity of the pool is 120 cbm. With effect from October 1, 1906, the city of Kirchberg acquired the water supply systems. The tower remained in the possession of the town of Kirchberg until January 1, 1975, when the water supply was transferred to the Verbandsgemeinde. Due to the construction of a pressure boosting system on Metzenhausener Straße, the tower became superfluous for the city in 2000 and was then sold to private hands. The 36 meter high Kirchberg water tower was put into operation on August 1, 1900. Due to the construction of a pressure boosting system, the tower became superfluous for the city in 2000 and was then sold to private hands. Today the tower houses a post office - matching the color. The unmistakable tower can be seen from afar and is the symbol of the city with the two church towers.
