Anyone who has arrived in Riesa-Gröba should look at the houses on Kirchstraße with the pictures. All of the buildings on Kirchstrasse were badly damaged by flooding and were destroyed very nicely restored.

Until about 1935, a wooden windmill stood here. In 1937 a tower Dutch windmill was built, which worked until 1956. At the end of the sixties, the town of Strehla bought land and decided to rebuild the mill to the youth hostel. On 04.06.1971 the inauguration of the hostel "Zur Windmühle" took place. Since 1991, the youth hostel belongs to the German youth hostel e.V.
