Just like the village street and the Niendorf estate, the church of St. Anna, including its furnishings, churchyard and fieldstone embankment walls, is one of the cultural monuments of the Schleswig-Holstein community of Niendorf an der Stecknitz (district of the Duchy of Lauenburg).

The St. Anna Church in Niendorf is a very beautiful and the oldest half-timbered church in the Duchy of Lauenburg district. Its western part was added in 1745, which is also evident in the brickwork, because while the older part has artistic infill brick patterns, the panels in the younger part are simply bricked up. The western gable tower, which ends with a tent roof and dates from 1793, is even younger. The most striking decoration in the interior are the curved headbands, which are painted with male and female figures with bare upper bodies and are evidence of a sensual lifestyle in the early modern period. In the 18th century, these figures were considered scandalous and were painted over with gray paint. They only came to light again in the 20th century during a restoration. The notable furnishings include the altar and pulpit (1674) and the epitaphs depicting members of the noble families on the Niendorf estate. www.kirche-ll.de/gemeinden/breitenfelde/geschichte.html
