What smells so good here are the mountain pines around you. They barely reach over your head, and yet you are in the middle of the forest. Botanically belonging to the mountain pines, they hardly grow taller than three meters. Their trunk stays close to the ground, the branches grow densely upwards. The plants, which smell resinous on warm days, protect the soil from erosion and can stop avalanches in winter.
