The Käpten-Jürs Bridge, the bascule bridge over the Krückau in Elmshorn was named after the Elmshorner Jürgen Jürs, the last Windjammer commander in the history of seafaring, who until 1938 only operated cargo ships without an engine.

The harbor clasp with the Käpt´n-Jürs bridge was opened in September 2013 and has become an integral part of this area. However, if it is rare, it takes about 30 minutes for ships to fold up.

The bridge past beautifully into the cityscape. It also relieves Elmshorn from car traffic.
