It is an idyllic place of prayer and meditation: outside the city, in a quiet corner in the middle of the Sulzhau deciduous forest, the Mariengrotte is located next to a spring. After 1945, the grotto was built by returning soldiers. The grotto, which was restored in 2007 and made wheelchair accessible, is complemented by a seating area and a Stations of the Cross. Wooden panels describe the suffering of Christ.
