There is a special monument to the time of National Socialism on the site of the Winterhude district school. A freight wagon and two sculptures in front of it commemorate Julia Cohn and Hertha Feiner-Aßmus, two former Jewish school teachers who were dismissed from service in 1933 and later lost their lives during their deportations. The peculiarity of the monument is that the installation goes back to the initiative of a student project group.
