    Hiking

Blueberry Hill is one of the taller hills in the area, so you get a great view of the area from the top. On a clear day, you can see the top of the skyline of Philadelphia.

    Blueberry Hill Red Trail

The Blueberry Hill Red Trail offers a delightful and accessible outdoor experience, winding through a mix of woodlands, wetlands, and distinctive pine forests. You'll traverse varied terrain, from paved sections to dirt paths, and even encounter areas of reddish-orange earth. The standout feature is the panoramic view of the Philadelphia skyline from the summit of Blueberry Hill, a truly rewarding sight after a short climb. Don't miss the unique sand mining area, playfully dubbed "The Grand Canyon of Camden County," which adds an unexpected geological twist to the scenery.

Planning your visit is straightforward, with ample parking available at Pole Hill Park. This trail is a fantastic option for a family hike, as much of it is stroller-friendly, and leashed dogs are welcome to join. While the Red Trail itself is an easy 1.2-mile (2.0 km) loop with only 42 feet (13 metres) of elevation gain, taking about 31 minutes, it connects to a broader network of trails within the Gibbsboro Greenway System if you're looking to extend your adventure.

Beyond its natural beauty, the Blueberry Hill Red Trail is rich with local history, featuring small concrete ruins and the remnants of a former radar station that once served Philadelphia's air defenses. Keep an eye out for local wildlife, as wild turkeys have been spotted in the area. This trail offers a perfect blend of natural features, historical intrigue, and a surprising urban vista, making it a popular route for beginners and those seeking a quick, engaging outdoor escape.
