The origins of the St. Joseph Chapel go back to the 17th century. As can be read in the excellent two-volume description of the Unterallgäu district from 1987, the St. Joseph's Chapel, which is 845 meters above sea level, was issued on January 28, 1684 by the "Hölzle" of the church "with the edition bequeathed to replace the wooden structure with a massive new building. "
