Hiking

The chapel was built in 1830–1831 at the instigation of Henri-Toussaint Fischbach, an industrialist from Malmedy, who wanted to express his gratitude for the rescue of his father-in-law in the Venn.

Hiking

Until 1865, the residents of the Baraque Michel rang the chapel bell every evening to show stray people the way. As a result, around 120 people were saved in the 19th century. In 1885 the chapel was enlarged. Source: Wikipedia

Hiking

Approximately 100 meters away from the Baraque Michel is the Fischbach chapel, which was built in 1831 and is 675 meters high. In the past, signal fires were lit in the tower of the chapel to help travelers find their way around.
The hiking / educational trail of the Polleur-Venn begins right next to the chapel.
