This plane stood for decades as a climbing frame on a playground near the Dorenburg in Vinkrath. It was locked for a long time because it no longer complied with today's security laws. Fortunately, citizens of the Grefrath community have campaigned for this rare piece of play equipment to be a showpiece on the popular cycle route.

The toy and sports plane was set up in 1957 at the old sports field (Nordkanal Kampfbahn) and has inspired generations of children 😃 Many years later it had to give way to a new development area and found a new place on the playground at Dorenburgwäldchen. At some point, newer safety regulations prevented children from continuing to play on the great scaffolding 😳 Fortunately, it was not scrapped and instead set up here at a safe height as a reminder of earlier times 😍
