The dune areas of the seashore remained in their natural state for centuries. It was not until the beginning of the 17th century that the need was felt to plant trees there.
After a few years, the "Maikuhle", the first park in Kołobrzeg, was built.
At the end of the 19th century, parts became a central cemetery. After World War II the village "Die Maikuhle" was used for military purposes and the cemetery was closed.
In 1971, the rundown cemetery was removed and transformed into a passive recreation park and christened "Unity of Nations".

Today's park hides traces of its former function – a cemetery was established here at the end of the 19th century, which was closed after the war and finally liquidated in 1971. To this day, remnants of old tombstones can be found among the greenery. It's worth knowing this when passing through the park – the peaceful recreational area has a much longer and less obvious history.
