Since the tunnel on the Grimsel Pass road is only accessible by bike downhill, you'll have to take the old pass road. However, it's not a must, as the path, part of which is cobblestone, is much more beautiful and spectacular anyway.

A truly beautiful stretch of the old pass road, which bypasses the new tunnel at this point. It's a shame that these old sections are extremely short overall, and you have to drive most of the time on the new, not exactly quiet road...
