Directly in front of the "doorstep" of the Saxon state capital Dresden is a railway cycle path that is definitely worth a visit: the cycle path on the former railway line of the Weißig-Dürrröhrsdorf route, also called the Schönfelder Hochland cycle path. The developed and paved cycle path leads over approx. 14 km (one way) through a natural landscape away from the main roads and is much more relaxed to drive compared to the often overcrowded Elbe cycle path, as it has so far been spared from the tourist masses.
