During the Battle of Nations in October 1813, both the population and the buildings of Stünz were affected. On the night of 18-19 October 1813, where the Stünzer pond was later laid out, the Prussian Landwehr under Major Carl Friccius rested before the storm on Leipzig. It is recalled today by Apelstein No. 43.
