In the project, ten weekend houses that were foreign to the area were cleared and sold or donated to Natuurpunt. This benefits the peace and quiet and the landscape, and it saves the government a lot on water purification because the discharge points no longer have to be collected. Finally, the accessibility of the nature reserves was also improved. There was a viewing platform, a plank path and a footbridge over the slate canal. Now parts of wet nature can also be explored with children and prams.
