In Alsfeld, people are justifiably proud of the old town with its closed, historic buildings. One of the most impressive buildings on the market is the old town hall. It was built in the 16th century using the frame construction method and has recently been extensively renovated. In 2011, the town hall was even honored as a stamp motif for the German Post Office.
