The Klausberge are a distinctive group of porphyry rocks on the right bank of the Saale. They extend over approximately 4.5 hectares in the north of the city, between the districts of Giebichenstein and Trotha, and are protected as a nature monument covering a large area. The rocks rise about 15 to 20 meters above the river level and offer one of the most beautiful views of the Saale valley and the nearby Giebichenstein Castle.
