Cycling

For the tradition of the land of Otranto it has now become a place of worship finding physical and spiritual peace in the shade of the large pine forest and the rural district, enriched by scenes of the Via Crucis and by this majestic statue of Christ the Redeemer, who leaving himself to shoulders the blue of the Adriatic sea welcomes the visitor with open arms.

Salento Bike Trail

May 25, 2023

Cycling

A strategic hill, once dedicated to Jupiter, with a view of the plateau that leads to Otranto will still have to be climbed but after just a few hundred meters you will reach the summit of Montevergine. The sight of an immense expanse of olive groves makes one understand how important the cultivation of this plant was, culturally and economically, for the heel of Italy. An enormous challenge awaits Salento, xylella is a watershed towards a still indecipherable future for the olive tree and this territory.
