“The Ponykids are young people who live in the ghettos of Dublin and keep their ponies in backyards and public parks. After the artist Cornelia Brader became aware of the riding city children during a trip to Ireland, the equestrian statue became the central theme of her work.
The work was on display at the traditional garden show in the Park der Gärten in Bad Zwischenahn, Lower Saxony, in 2006, and won both the jury and audience awards.
