The Haus der Stadtgeschichte Waiblingen (historically also known as the “Großes Haus”) is the oldest surviving secular building in the city and houses the municipal museum. The half-timbered house, built around 1550 directly on the Rems river, survived the devastating city fire of 1634 as one of the few buildings and is today itself the largest exhibit in the museum.
