The Torre de la Plaça dates from the 11th to 13th centuries and was built during the Moorish rule as a defensive and watchtower. With a height of around 23 meters and four floors, it served to monitor and defend the surrounding area. In 1376, King Peter IV of Aragon ordered repair work. After centuries of changing use, the tower was restored in 1994–1996. Since 2007, it has been a listed monument. Located directly next to the town hall, it is today an impressive historical landmark and the square an ideal place for a break.
