... is a model for success: It was put into operation on 1 August 2010 - since then, around 1.7 million animals have used the ascent assistance; In the meantime, 50 different species have been detected. At the Fish Passage symposium in Groningen in June 2015, Europe's largest fish ladder, which is fully geared to the needs of fish, received recognition as the "Outstanding Project in Fisheries & Ecohydrology".
