Hiking
Time has long forgotten Hammoon and it's an exquisite hamlet to wander around. The 16th century manor is one of the real highlights, with a two storey porch and history seeping out of its stone. One of the biggest thatched manor houses in the nation, you can practically hear Thomas Hardy's words in the air as you gaze at the architecture.
Elsewhere in the village, the 17th century church is another wonderful building. Quiet and in its own world, it feels like only hikers pass through here. The Stour Valley Way passes through the village somewhat deliberately.
