"Hans-Nigl" is still the house name of the Kasseckert/Judas family today, who owned one of the three farms below the chapel in Paulusbrunn. They donated and maintained this chapel. Due to a vow after the severe storms in the years 1724 and 1871, processions took place annually on June 26th in Paulusbrunn, to ask for protection from further natural disasters according to specific rituals. These prayer services, colloquially known as "Schaafeier", always had the Hans-Nigl Chapel as their destination, where a high mass was always celebrated.

The Hans Nigl Chapel is located directly at the border on Böttgerweg. At the chapel there is a nice rest area and the corresponding information boards.
