Where there is much sacredness, the unholy is not far away and so many legends have developed around the almost 1300 year old monastery town of Altomünster. They are about white women and black dogs, abdominal men and restless ghosts, who are up to mischief in woods, on ponds or on hilltops. What used to be superstition is now varied on a bike tour that takes you past twelve stations with the most beautiful scary stories on display boards. The route leads over 40 kilometers to several districts of Altomünster.

Coming from Halmsried, there is a sign at the junction with the eleventh of a total of 12 scary legends, which can be discovered on the “Eerie around Altomünster” bike path.
