Seefin Summit

Hiking

In the Comeragh mountains, Seefin stands at 2,382 feet (726 m) and commands views of its neighbours and County Waterford. It’s one of 12 mountains in the range and popular with hikers, with a mountain walking festival held in the region each year. You can find Seefin to the south of the range, overlooking the sea.

There are several good places to begin your ascent. From the south, you can summit Coumaraglin first before continuing onwards to the higher Seefin. The mountainside is grassy with vast expanses of heather that turn purple in summer, vivid against the lush green. The mountain doesn’t look much from below, a rounded grassy hump, but when you finally reach the summit, the views more than make up for it. Southwards, the sea glitters and the craggy coastline meanders below. To the north, the Comeraghs continue their chain, beckoning you onwards for a longer hike.
