Martelaarsplein (French: Place des Martyrs) is a neoclassical square in the center of Brussels, just east of Rue Neuve.
On this square are a number of elegant buildings where various Flemish ministers have their cabinets, including the Prime Minister of Flanders.
The name Martelaarsplein is therefore used as a metonymy for the Flemish government, just as Wetstraat can stand for the federal government.
