Ferdinand Gottlob Schichau (January 30, 1814 - January 23, 1896) was an ingenious mechanical engineer and entrepreneur who was already involved in the construction of ships and locomotives at the beginning of the industrial age. In 2003 a memorial stone with the relief of Ferdinand Schichau was erected in front of the administration building in Schichau.
