The Partwitzer See, like its “neighbors” the Geierwalder and Senftenberger See, is a so-called residual hole from the time of open-cast mining in the region. The remaining hole was flooded and the water treated for many years. Today there is a wonderful sandy beach on the east bank and the water shimmers in the most beautiful turquoise - almost like in the Caribbean.
