When you are traveling in the south of Crete, you immediately notice the mountain and you want to go up there. You can get quite close with a four-wheel drive on dirt roads. The actual climb to the summit chapel of Kartalos is not that easy, it is steep, rocky and partly exposed. The view (360 degrees) from above is worth every effort.
