Dear Marco, the manager of the Refuge, who will welcome you as if you were at home. The refuge is well equipped with large rooms. If the refuge is full, there is a small bivouac outside, also perfectly equipped, always managed by the refuge. A popular destination for climbers and mountaineers who travel the Argentera and Corno Stella routes.

Embark on the difficult Trail N10 to Rifugio Bozano, a challenging hike spanning 5.8 miles (9.4 km) with a significant elevation gain of 2837 feet (865 metres). This route typically takes around 5 hours to complete. As you ascend, you will experience varied terrain, transitioning from serene fir and larch woods to expansive open pastures and vast stretches of scree. The path includes grassy slopes and a long traverse across boulders, culminating in a steep climb towards Rifugio Bozano, all while offering views of the majestic western face of the Argentera and the distinctive Corno Stella.

When planning your visit, be aware that the road leading to the trailhead parking at Gias delle Mosche can have rough sections, even though it is generally asphalted. It is crucial to note that this access road is closed during the winter and early spring months, so you should plan your trip accordingly to avoid any unexpected closures. Always check local conditions before heading out to ensure a smooth journey to the starting point of your hike.

This trail leads you to Rifugio Bozano, which serves as a vital base for mountaineers and free climbers exploring the Maritime Alps. The area is renowned for its rugged beauty, with the Corno Stella standing out as an

Embark on a challenging 9.6-mile (15.4 km) hike to Rifugio Bozano, gaining 3553 feet (1083 metres) in elevation over approximately 6 hours and 51 minutes. This difficult loop takes you through varied terrain, starting in fir and larch woods before ascending grassy slopes and eventually reaching rocky alpine environments. You will traverse scree and boulders, with the majestic western face of the Argentera massif and the distinctive Corno Stella providing a dramatic backdrop.

To begin your adventure, head to the Gias delle Mosche parking lot, which is accessible from Terme di Valdieri. The initial uphill trek is varied, but the final stretch to the refuge is quite taxing, requiring good training and preparation. Consider the

Embark on a challenging high-mountain hiking experience with the Cima di Nasta loop tour, connecting Rifugio Bozano and Rifugio Remondino. This difficult route spans 11.1 miles (17.8 km) and involves a significant 4992 feet (1522 metres) of elevation gain, typically taking around 9 hours and 27 minutes to complete. You will traverse varied terrain, including scree slopes and exposed grassy sections, with fixed ropes in delicate areas to assist your progress. Along the way, you will be rewarded with spectacular views of the Argentera massif and the beautiful glacial Lago di Nasta, its intense blue waters nestled among rocky peaks.

This demanding loop is best undertaken as a two-day trek, allowing for an overnight stay at one of the refuges, though very fit individuals might attempt it in a single long day. The traverse between the refuges is rated for experienced hikers due to the varied terrain and the need for good orientation skills. If you are an experienced mountaineer, you can extend your adventure with a more technical ascent to the summit of Cima di Nasta from Rifugio Remondino, which adds several hours and may require ice axes and crampons depending on conditions.

The Cima di Nasta area, located within the Maritime Alps Natural Park, offers a raw, wild, and often solitary atmosphere, away from more frequented trails. Rifugio Bozano is particularly notable as a mythical, old-style mountain hut, dramatically perched beneath the impressive wall of Corno Stella. Keep an eye out for local wildlife such as ibex, chamois, and mouflons, especially during quieter times of the day, as you explore this rugged and beautiful part of the Italian Alps.
