Also across the mountain runs the historical border between Nassau-Dillenburg and Nassau-Siegen, which later became the border between the Duchy of Nassau and the Kingdom of Prussia. However, the Nassau border area also fell to Prussia in a subsequent war. Although the stones have lost their original meaning, today they form the state border between North Rhine-Westphalia and Hesse.
